The Exterior
The Bell Tower – The Bell weighing 4 1/2cwts and costing nearly £50 was installed in 1830 suspended from a frame made by a Longtown Joiner. The Inscription, engraved in the sandstone surrounding the sundial reads:
“THANKS BE TO GOD ALONE FOR OUR TWO DEAR SONS FEC AND PC WHO LIVED TO COME HOME FROM THE GREAT WAR”
And engraved in the Sun dial itself:
